What factors determine how much comes out?
Upping the quantity of semen that is ejaculated seems to be a near-universal male concern -- and there are a number of reasons underlying this. For many men, it is a matter of confidence; a large volume is associated with increased libido, fertility and sexual prowess. Yet, this desire stems from more than simple vanity. Increased volume translates into increased potency (the more sperm, the better the chance of impregnation) and increased pleasure (the larger the volume, the greater number of pleasurable muscle contractions). So what are the factors that determine how much comes out? To begin with, there are those elements that play a role in all other matters of the body: heredity, age, diet, and overall health. While the first two are obviously out of your control, dietary adjustments can improve the volume of your ejaculate. Amino acids such as L-arginine and L-lysine, zinc, and the Horny Goat Weed plant are all said to help up quantity, as is increasing your daily fluid intake. An overall state of fitness is usually accompanied by good blood circulation, which can also help ejaculation. If you want a specific group of exercises that will target penis performance, start working out your PC muscle.
Frequency of sexual activity also contributes to volume -- although only to a certain degree. If you abstain for a day or two, you'll certainly produce more sperm than you would ejaculating every few hours. But any longer than this one- to two-day timeframe, and you won't see much of make a difference, as semen reservoirs will have stopped building a supply.
How can I improve the taste of my semen?
Many of our more chivalrous readers have sought to make oral sex a more palatable experience for their partners, and I wish that I could give them all some firm directions toward doing so. But this is a subject that continues to be cluttered by myths and, these old wives' tales aside, there is simply no single recipe for preparing tastier ejaculate. The reason for this is that taste is, well, just that -- a matter of taste! One woman's sugar will be another woman's poison. So rather than pointing you toward a particular menu, let's look at the alleged effects of certain foods on ejaculation.
Fruits like kiwi, watermelon, celery, and pineapple are all said to make semen taste lighter. Beer and coffee are believed to have something of an opposite effect, and could leave her with a bitter taste. Alkaline-based foods like meat and fish produce a buttery taste, while acidic fruits (cranberries, blueberries and plums) produce a pleasant, sugary flavor. Most liqueurs will do the same, while dairy products can make for a foul taste because of their high bacterial putrefaction levels.
Making it thick, and not making her fat.
What's in sperm? Will swallowing make my girlfriend gain weight?
There are many ingredients composing semen, and its makeup is the same from man to man. Here are a few of the constituent elements: vitamin C, calcium, chlorine, cholesterol, citric acid, creatine, fructose, lactic acid, magnesium, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, vitamin B12, and zinc.
So what effect will all this have on her waistline? Well, not much of an effect at all. The caloric content of the average ejaculate is estimated to be approximately 5 to 25 calories -- hardly the most fattening meal.
And for those of you who wrote in asking if semen is a good source of protein, its protein content is roughly equivalent to that found in the egg white of a large egg. So she's probably best off sticking with eggs.
How can I make my semen thicker?
Consistency of semen fluctuates; you've probably noticed the thickness of your ejaculate can vary from day to day. This is because the quality of the fluid is very susceptible to a number of factors. Diet, exercise and frequency of sex can all dictate how thick or watery your emissions are, as can the tightness of the clothes that you wear (tight clothing will increase body temperature and can, thus, impact sperm motility). While there is a lack of supporting scientific evidence, a number of ingredients are said to help thicken semen. Because of their protein content, egg whites and gelatin are often recommended. Wheat germ, omega-3 oils, selenium, and zinc are all also believed to improve consistency.
